December 10, 2012 Meeting Minutes

The Union County Redevelopment Commission met at 8:30am in the Union County Commissioners’ meeting room of the Union County Courthouse. Commission members Bill Frazer, Melanie Caldwell, Dan Hubbard, Dennis Estridge, and Carolyn Portwood were in attendance. Members of the public included Jay Ewing, Jerry Logue and David Woodruff. Bev Woodruff of The Liberty Herald was also in attendance.

The meeting minutes of July 6, 2012 were read and approved unanimously. The motion was made by Dan Hubbard and seconded by Dennis Estridge.

Elisa Hubbard presented an overview of the commission’s newly designed website. The website name is The site includes descriptions of our community, pictures, meeting agendas and minutes, newspaper articles and statistics about Union County. A separate section describes and presents pictures of the Whitewater Industrial Park.

Part of the website includes a section for pictures and short bios of each member of the commission. Each commissioner was asked to contact Elisa Hubbard to have their photo taken and to provide a short bio of their careers and experience in the community.

So that the Union County Redevelopment Commission can enter into a contract or Memorandum of Understanding with R&M Outdoors LLC, the county’s attorneys DeFur Voran LLP have recommended completion of a legal description and appraisal of the 3.3 acre parcel of the Whitewater Industrial Park and a service proposal from R&M.

The legal description of the 3.3 acre parcel of the Whitewater Industrial Park has been completed by Gillespie Surveying. Kris Lacy is working with his contacts to have an appraisal of the 3.3 acres completed and Karl Moffet and Marc Ross of R&M will provide us with a three year service proposal quantifying the value of their work to the property. At the end of the three years (July 15, 2012 – July 14, 2015), upon successful completion of the Service Proposal, conveyance of the property to R&M Outdoors LLC will occur.

We want to thank Chris Rosenberger for his service on our commission and wish him good luck with all of his endeavors in the future. Currently we are looking for his replacement. The commission wishes to ask a community member who lives in the Town of Liberty to join us in continuing to develop the industrial park.
