December 9, 2014 Meeting Minutes
The Union County Redevelopment Commission met at 8:30am in the Union County Commissioners’ meeting room of the Union County Courthouse. Commission members Kris Lacy, Diana Bourne, Melanie Caldwell, Marc Ross, and James Tilton were in attendance.
The meeting minutes of April 9, 2014 were read and approved unanimously. The motion was made by Marc Ross and seconded by Diana Bourne.
Our website has been completed. We are at a point where updates of the agenda and meeting minutes are added to the website as they occur, as well as updated pictures of the Whitewater Industrial Park. In addition, the IEDC Zoom Prospector site is available on our website www.unioncountyrc.com. We made an additional request that the documentation we have collected for the “shovel ready” classification is added to the Zoom Prospector site. This provides additional information about the industrial park that potential clients are often interested in reviewing.
Throughout 2014, IEDC forwarded 23 projects for our review, one project fit the characteristics of the industrial park, and all other projects were looking for existing buildings.
In our efforts to be prepared for potential projects, the commission is in need of a comprehensive listing of Regional Employers, key contacts for many of these companies and news articles and announcements of business and economic activity in our region, east central Indiana. Diana Bourne has volunteered to obtain information on regional employers and each commissioner will maintain files of business news announcements made in our area.
In June of this year we renewed the subscription for Dreamhost, our internet domain and web hosting company. The charge for a two year subscription (current until 7/30/16) is $214.80. Melanie Caldwell requested reimbursement of the expense. The reimbursement was approved unanimously by the commission; Marc Ross moved and James Tilton seconded the motion.
The next order of business to be conducted at 9:00am was the opening of sealed 2015 farming bids for the Whitewater Industrial Park land.
