The Union County Redevelopment Commission met at 1pm in the Union County Commissioners’ meeting room of the Union County Courthouse. Members of the community and the press who were in attendance included: Pam Tharp, Palladium-Item; Bev Woodruff, The Liberty Herald; Tonya Paddock, UCDC; and Wayne Jester of Milestone LLC.

The meeting minutes of November 24, 2009 were read and approved unanimously by a motion made by Chris Rosenberger and seconded by Kris Lacy.

In new business Mr. Frazer read a letter of intent to be signed by the UCRC for Eastern Indiana Railroad indicating our support of a no cost easement for the development of an industrial rail spur to be located on the southern border of the industrial park. The letter also discussed IERR’s intent to pursue grant funding from INDOT to assist in the construction costs of the rail spur. The railroad also requested a letter of support from the UCRC for the INDOT grant. Kris Lacy moved and Chris Rosenberger seconded a motion to approve both The Letter of Intent and the Letter of Support. The motion was approved.

The development committee discussed that we are currently having conversations with Milestone, LLC. Milestone, the contractor for the second phase of the US 27 construction project can provide at no cost to UCRC the construction of a planned pond on the property and the beneficial reuse of concrete and asphalt for the railroad spur and entrance to the park.

The commission announced that a meeting will be advertised for the purpose of accepting cash rent bids as soon as it is determined the number of acres that will be available to farm in 2010.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,
