March 29, 2010 Meeting Minutes
The Union County Redevelopment Commission met at 9am in the Union County Commissioners’ meeting room of the Union County Courthouse. Commission members Bill Frazer, Melanie Caldwell, Marvin Hofer, Dennis Estridge and Kris Lacy were in attendance. Members of the community and the press who were in attendance included: Bev Woodruff, The Liberty Herald and David Woodruff.
The meeting minutes of February 26, 2010 were read and approved unanimously by a motion made by Dennis Estridge and seconded by Kris Lacy.
In new business the development committee presented an agreement for approval between the Union County Redevelopment Commission and Milestone, LLC. Milestone, the contractor for the second phase of the US 27 construction project will provide at no cost to UCRC the construction of a planned pond on the property and the beneficial reuse of concrete and asphalt for the railroad spur and entrance to the park. In return, Milestone will use borrow dirt from the property and establish a staging area for the US 27 construction project. Upon review of the contract, Marvin Hofer moved and Kris Lacy seconded accepting the contract between Milestone, LLC and the Union County Redevelopment Commission. The motion was approved unanimously.
